Your first real Zap checklist

Start tiny. A boring two-step Zap that works is better than a giant clever Zap that confuses you.

Name the boring repeat job. “I copy every new lead into my CRM.”

Test with a real sample. Look at the data Zapier found.

Map carefully. Match each source field to the right box.

Turn it on, then check history. Make sure the robot did what you meant.

🔎 If your Zap does something weird, play detective

Nothing started?

Check the Trigger. Did the exact event happen, and is the right account connected?

Wrong information?

Check the mapping. A source field may be connected to the wrong destination box.

It stopped early?

Check the Filter and the sample data. The rule may be doing exactly what you told it.

You do not need to memorize Zapier. You need to see the robot rule.

When you get lost, say it out loud: “When this happens, use this data, check this rule, then do these chores.” That sentence is your map.
